Morrígan

  • Phantom queen

  • Aka (Fate) of doom & death in battle
  • She is a crow flying above the battlefield and helps transforms carrion to life

  • Her triple source of power needed to regenerate cycles, takes one from life to death and from death to life
  • Shown as moon’s three phases, maiden, nymph and crone; the moon, new, waxing & old
  • Much like the Fates she decides ones life span in battle
  • She prophesied the death of Cuchulain a vain warrior who died tieing himself to a standing stone so he could face his enemies and not fall to his knees during his final battle
  • The Morrígan is often described as a trio of individuals, all sisters, called ‘the three Morrígna’
